I read the instructions for adding a printer and adding a network printer, then checked my Epson WorkForce WF-3620 all-in-one inkjet printer / scanner / copier / fax, from which I retrieved its IP address (assigned by the router through DHCP) and pinged it successfully. With this installed I was able to access CUPS through the browser at "localhost:631". I updated the OS' packages with sudo app-get, then added CUPS via the gutenprint package installation. Today I began to investigate adding printing to the Pi.

Following the NOOB thread I have installed the Raspbian OS onto a 32GB micro-sd, booted, installed the OS, and accessed the Internet via the wireless router on the Home network. I am a noob with a Pi 3B that has been running for less than 24 hours. The Gutenprint Driver Package supports many Epson Printers, if still not supported buy a HP Printer supported by HPLIP. Doing the Add Printer process finds the printer, but of course - it doesn't have this one listed in the drop down list of 85,000 Epson printers. I just installed CUPS 1.7.5 and want to print to this Epson printer. I also have an RPi running a very current version of Raspian Jessie. No problem printing to it from any other device on our network. I have an Epson Workforce 3640 (WF-3640) attached to my home LAN. Have spent a lot of time Google searching for a procedure that actually works for the RPi and Epson printers, but was not successful.ĭoes anyone on this forum know an actual, working way to get this thing to function properly? Their site was about as helpful as a broken crutch. So, how can I get the required Epson (or otherwise) drivers for this printer loaded on the RPi and then subsequently show up in the list? Visiting the Epson site was an exercise in futility - I found NO drivers for the ARMHF architecture, only i386 and AMD64.
